Laster that evening, upon our return to the hotel for our second and final night, the dirty socks were still in the room. The next morning, I went to the front desk, showed the front clerk pictures of the dirty black socks, gave her my room number (which she wrote down), and asked for the socks be removed. Granted the pair under the A/C were difficult to see, but the pair in the closet could easily be seen upon opening the guestroom's front door. Lastly, the previous occupant of the room left two pairs of dirty black socks in the room that the cleaning staff did not remove. Second, the bathroom sink was clogged and drained super slow, but fine we dealt with that as well. First, a couple of the desktops had a spilled sticky substance on them, but I wiped them down. Needless to say, we were not impressed with the cleaning staff and their services. Overall a quiet and pleasant stay that exceeded my expectations.… One morning a contractor had tracked a bunch of mud through the lobby and dining area. The bagels were excellent quality, there was fresh fruit and a supply of good juice. However, you can tell again that these owners are taking pride in providing a well stocked (but minimal) breakfast. Now days the breakfasts at American chains are the bare minimum. To my surprise the entire breakfast was available.

One day I had to get up at 4:45am and was hoping to find coffee downstairs. That typically does not happen now except after several days and sometimes only if requested. The first day I forgot to put the no service needed sign on the door and was shocked to see the bedding changed and the bathroom and room cleaned. You could tell the family(s) running this hotel puts a lot of pride in doing an excellent job. However, I was here for a week working a golf tournament and my stay exceeded my expectations. I normally don’t review American chain hotels as typically they are all close to the same and nothing to write about.
